“Sinko De Mayo”

May 3rd, 2013

At Styleture we never pass up the opportunity to celebrate good style. With ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) just around the corner, we can’t wait to see what new products are in store. While we anticipate the latest and greatest in design, we want to take some time to celebrate a few of our old favorites. And what better time to celebrate than May 5th? In honor of our own “Sinko” de Mayo, here are five of our favorite sinks.

Natural Design

April 25th, 2013

As Earth Month comes to an end, it’s natural to reflect on all things… well, natural. Whether animal, vegetable, or mineral, the greatest design inspiration comes from Mother Nature herself. That’s why we at Styleture strive to bring nature’s beauty indoors whenever we can. We’ve found some of our favorite companies that are not only making natural products but are contributing to a sustainable future as well.

Taking its lead from nature’s blueprint, Stone Forest sculpts designs from natural materials like stone, copper, bronze, bamboo, iron and hardwood. Their hardwood and bamboo lines are fully sustainable, and their copper and bronze products are crafted from 100% recycled materials. Some of our favorite stand outs include their luxurious Bronze Lunette, their stylish SYNC Drop-in Bamboo Vessel Sink and their Wood L-Slab Pedestal.

In design, white is synonymous with summer— clean and bright, it’s a color that says “ahh.” Here are some ways homeowners can bring warmth and brightness into their homes right now, well before summer begins.

Green With Envy!

March 15th, 2013

With Pantone’s declaration of Emerald Green as the color of 2013, one can’t help but feel invigorated by the year ahead. Verdant, full of vitality, vivid and vivacious, Emerald Green has already made a definitive impact on the red carpet and runway. From that “gown” in the film Atonement to Angelina Jolie’s oversized emerald earrings at the Oscars, the color has proven to be every bit alluring and versatile. We’d like to think that these emerald-themed products for the home will not only provide timeless grandeur to interiors, but in the process, might even make others “green” with envy.

Hudson Falls by Hudson Valley Lighting

Drawing cues from classically-inspired turn of the century lighting is Hudson Falls from Hudson Valley Lighting. This canopy-style pendant is defined by its deceptively familiar design, the ceiling fitting and top base are characterized with fine detailing. Hudson Falls is offered as a one- or three-light sconce, canopy and hanging pendant lamp and is available in a variety of finishes: black/polished nickel, distressed bronze, aged brass with green and polished nickel.

Sully by THG

Ornate and noteworthy aptly describe the jewel-encrusted bath tap Sully by renowned atelier THG-Paris. Regarded for outfitting five star hotels, royal palaces and opulent residences around the globe, THG’s Sully is every bit as luxurious with intricate detailing and jewel-like construction. Created by Jean-Claude Delépine, designer for coveted, luxury jewelry brands, Sully is available in six shades and is shown here in Malachite. A full suite of coordinating products and accessories can be paired with this magnificent tap.

Valentine’s Day: Saying ‘Ahhh Love You’

February 13th, 2013

Indulging one’s paramour on Valentine’s Day can take many forms; plying him or her with chocolate, wrapping a loved one in cashmere, blinding them with bling of some sort, providing a day away from the children a la a spa day. A spa day does sound nice – and if your readers want to know how to pamper their loved ones year-round (earning many more brownie points), perhaps they should focus on bath items that make it easy to say, “ahhh love you.”

Heart Throb – Corbett Lighting
With its twisted and delicate heart-shaped frame, there is no question where Corbett Lighting draws inspiration for its lovely Heart Throb. Dressed for the occasion, the two-light sconce is crafted in solid brass and features a polished nickel finish that could take a space from zero to 60 beats per minute. Perfect for a board room or dare we say, the bedroom, Heart Throb is topped with hardback linen shades and exudes romance at every glance.

Styleture’s Design Trend Picks for 2013

December 28th, 2012

Out with the old, in with the new. With each New Year comes a new opportunity to refresh, recharge…and redecorate! But before the countdown to midnight and the Auld Lang Syne serenade begins, we wanted to share some of our favorite design trends sure to carry over into 2013.

Need help getting the look? No problem! We’ve included some tips to help you get a fresh start.

Less Is More

We’re not shy about our love for minimalism. Simple and sophisticated, this modern aesthetic showcases bold design that’s anything but boring. We love LAUFEN’s deceptively simple and organic forms that showcase stripped down style—and we’re not the only ones! This year designer Roberto Palomba’s freestanding Palomba bathtub won an Interior Design Best of Year award and it’s easy to see why. Inspired by the elemental force of nature, this tub is a minimalist beauty and modern delight.

Get the Look: Clean out the clutter! Gather items you no longer need and take a trip to your local Goodwill. Give your items left a proper home—no junk drawers or overstuffed closets! Relocate anything that doesn’t belong and hide others out of sight. And resolve to keep it that way in the new year.

Go Goth!

October 15th, 2012

Black out? Never. The darkest color in the rainbow is also the most tragically misunderstood. Black isn’t all doom and gloom, it’s a color worthy of worship even outside the funeral parlor. White is passé after Labor Day, but black is classic and refined year round. Feeling a little spooky? Take the passenger seat in our hearse and ride along as we dig up these black beauties…

Bijoux – Corbett Lighting

Bijoux is the French word for “jewelry” and while the traditional Goth may shun sparkles in favor of studded bracelets and lace chokers, this is a piece worthy of anyone’s collection. Wrought from hand-crafted iron, Corbett Lighting’s design blends Classic Golden Silver with delicious Antique Black. And just like your trusty night light, the shining crystal accents brighten up even the darkest corners.

Queen of Love Armchair by Moro-Pigatti

Even people of a ghostly pallor need to get a little sunshine once in a while. This whimsical throne by Italian designers Graziano Moro and Renato Pigatti can be placed outdoors or indoors, depending on your ghastly tan lines. And because this armchair is made from recyclable linear polyethylene, it’s an eco-friendly addition to your haunted house. The Queen of Love is available in 13 unlucky colors but we prefer to lie back in black.
