THG’s newest bathroom collection, the Bagatelle, is a playful take on luxury bathroom fixtures and accessories designed by highly respected French designer Olivier Gagnère, whose eclectic Parisian apartment was recently featured on the cover of Elle Décor’s April 2010 issue. In designing the Bagatelle Collection, Gagnère was inspired by a table game that originated from a royal party thrown in 1777; this royal game has since evolved into what is now the pinball machine.
The Bagatelle Collection’s humorous, imaginative design invites users to touch and play with the faucet handles, knobs, buttons and shapes that have been cleverly fashioned from signature elements of a pinball machine. Slender lever handles are reminiscent of a pinball machine’s flippers and the round shapes found throughout the Bagatelle Collection echo the round bumpers and ivory balls of the table game.

Remodeling a bathroom is still considered a smart and economical choice for homeowners – they can enjoy the fruits of their labor now and recoup much of the costs later. The building blocks of any bathroom seem relatively elementary: sink, toilet, shower, vanity, mirror, lighting. However, choosing products for this room still intimidates many homeowners. Here are a few choices for the bathroom that we consider to be liberating, not limiting.

Bold, but subtle. Striking, yet serene. The Yoko Suite exemplifies harmony, filled with balanced elements and lush textures that contrast and complement. Inspired by the Japanese bath, this stunning but understated design merges Eastern tranquility with modern features.
Intricate details epitomize the Cristal de Lalique Bambou faucet. A carved bamboo pattern brings a touch of nature to the sleek design. The matte finish of the crystal handles contrasts beautifully with the polished surfaces of the chrome faucet. The slender tub filler anchors the faucet, its geometric lines softened by curved edges.
The freestanding Yoko bathtub is a statement in style. Lined in leather, the bathtub is a unique addition to the suite; its texture complements the metallic interior of the Vasque sink. Hammered in chrome, the basin appears as a rippled pool even before a drop of water touches the bottom. The shower set features two rainfall showerheads for a luxurious experience.
